Belfonte Dairy | From the Heart of Kansas City


Everyone loves a good charcuterie board… let’s crank it up a notch with this amazing fall appetizer board – full of caramel apple toppings!


For Caramel:
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup water
¼ cup butter (half a stick)
½ cup Belfonte heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp salt

For board:
Apples (4-6)
Mini chocolate chips
Mini cookies
Any caramel apple toppings you’d like!


For Caramel:

In a large sauce pan, add your sugars and water over medium high heat and let cook until sugar dissolves and it starts to bubble.

Add your butter and stir it in. Let mixture continue to bubble. Once you butter is all stirred in and bubbly add your Belfonte heavy cream, slowly, to the mixture and mix. Try to not let your mixture hit up on the side of the pan cause this could cause crystallization.

Continue to stir your mixture, being careful not to walk away as this could burn, until it thickens in texture and starts to pull from the pan.

Remove from heat and add your salt and vanilla.

For board:

Transfer the caramel into a heat resistant container for your board. Be careful because it will be very hot. Make sure to let it cool slightly but not too much as your caramel can harden.

To assemble your board, cut up your apples into slices, arrange your toppings in little bowls and add all your favorite goodies in a pretty design.
