Chocolate Cherry Mousse
Ingredients
For Whipped Cream
- 2 cups Belfonte Heavy Whipping Cream
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or bean paste
For Chocolate Mousse
- ¾ cup Belfonte Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- + half the whipped cream whipped cream
- Fresh cherries
- Fresh cherries halved and pitted
Directions
- In a large glass bowl add chocolate chips. Heat up ¾ cup of Belfonte Heavy Whipping Cream and pour over chocolate chips. Let set for a few minutes before stirring until well combined.
- To make whipped cream, whip up additional 2 cups of cold Belfonte Heavy Whipping Cream using an electric hand mixer, stand mixer or milk frother, until it starts to thicken.
- Add vanilla and powdered sugar and beat until it’s thick and stiff. Be careful not to overmix as this could curdle cream (and start the buttering process)
- Add half of whipped cream into chocolate ganache and fold gently until combined.
- To assemble, add chocolate mixture and whipped cream in layers to serving cups or bowl and top each one with two half cherries and one whole. Continue until mixtures are all divided out.
