Playing outside and reading Maisy Mouse books are Lucy’s favorite things to do. After months of cancer treatments, this sweet girl longed to frolic outside and curl up with her favorite books. What better wish than to transform the best of Lucy’s favorites into a special playhouse in her backyard!
This little three-year-old envisioned the playhouse of her dreams; it needed to have a loft, a round door in her favorite color purple and window boxes to plant sunny flowers.
After months of feeling powerless, Lucy’s wish gave her a sense of control and hope for normalcy.
During the building process, Lucy’s anticipating grew – she could even be found peeking in the door, her excitement growing. But nothing compared to the look on her face when she saw her playhouse’s purple door for the first time. Lucy squealed with delight and jumped up and down with joy.
